International Wetland Park Visitor Centre

Where: Tin Shui Wai, New Territories, Hong Kong

Our role: Design support to Met Studio London and fabrication for C Beck London

The client wanted: An immersive Borneo Peat Swamp reproduced to the finest detail to include live animals (crocodiles), natural lighting and 30% live plants. Additionally the client wanted a artic wetland that was super realistic yet diagramatic for educational purposes

Our artists travelled to Borneo to record the environment first hand. WE built 60 trees (25’ tall), live crocodile tanks and countless plant varieties. The result is a fully immersive experience so effective as to masterfully suspend a visitor’s disbelief.

The Artic Tundra.
The cold, pristine north is rendered in dramatic dioramas, showing how animals like reindeer, fox and owls have adapted to the unique ecosystem of the tundra. Imagining this magical region is complete with a translucent enlarged drop of water with all the commensurate microscopic critters.
