Imperial Valley Dessert

The imperial Valley Dessert Museum chose Weldon Exhibits to create across disciplinary showcase consisting of an interior orientation gallery that would lead to outdoor interpretive trail experiences.

Interactive displays, dioramas, graphic elements, and touchable animal models come together to tell the story of the life-threatening challenges and beauty of life in the dessert for wildlife, farmers, and contemporary people alike. Guests are invited in as archeologists as they explore the history of the dessert through a 3-D touch interactive map of Lake Cahuilla, the story theatre, and get the opportunity to experience the dessert as ancient peoples did. Continuing its emphasis on community, the museum also features a lecture center and community art exhibit.
