The client wanted
A team they could work closely with them to develop a new marine based live animal venue for the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum on the Stearns Wharf location suitable to a visiting tourist audience.
Our approach was to develop the new Sea Center as a working marine laboratory. Interactive exhibits allow visitors to work like scientists out on the decks, take sample sand help lower equipment into the sea below. The interior exhibit space is divided into a series of “lab” areas; visitors can be self-guided explorers or participants in staff-guided activities.
